USA Rugby is our national body and is responsible primarily for conducting our national championships, managing our national teams, providing coaching certification and being our voice to the International Rugby Board.
They also support the state based rugby organizations (SBROs) in developing rugby at the youth level. This program includes Rookie Rugby that is available to elementary and middle schools.
USA Rugby is funded by national sponsorship and player fees. To participate in any of the competitive programs of Rugby Virginia all players need to register with USA Rugby.
The benefit to Culpeper Youth Rugby is liability insurance without which we would not be able to use county or town facilities or compete against other clubs.
The benefit to the players is an automatic insurance policy that will cover any rugby related injury at rugby practice, game or travel. This is a secondary insurance type policy. However, if you don’t have a primary insurance that would cover a rugby injury then this policy would act as the primary.
As a secondary insurer the deductible is $1000, as a primary the deductible is $2500. The maximum value is $250,000. For more detailed information visit www.usarugby.org.
USA Rugby registration fees vary by mode of play and age. For all touch participants the fee is $5. For youth players competing in the Youth divisions the fee is $20. High School fees are $30.
Registering will cover all rugby competitions during the year through next summer.
